Scripture reading
Well my scripture challenge is going pretty well, I'm only one day behind and I've been going for 3 days...Okay I'm not doing very well, but I'm trying. I'm enjoying reading the stories that I grew up with. One thing that struck me last night was the trust that Nephi and Lehi had in the Lord. Lehi uprooted his family then sent his sons back to Jerusalem, to Laban's home to retrieve the plates. When his wife was questioning his actions and assuming that their sons would never come back, he reassured her that the Lord had sent their sons on this errand and that they would be protected. Nephi's trust included knowing the Lord would help them get the plates. Then when Heavenly Father delivered Laban to him, he knew that the right choice was to kill him, to save others. I'm afraid this doesn't make sense and I'm rambling. But this challenge has been good for me. Its giving me the chance to know for myself if its a true book.

Institute and scripture challenges
Well today was good other than the fact that I could not wake up all the way for the life of me. But good news is, I made it to my clients and got my paperwork turned in for M/T. :D
Better news is I made it to institute! Love it. We talked about Christ's divine sonship to Heavenly Father and what that meant for His life. Another topic was how the Atonement is both infinite and eternal, not only does it do tons of things for us, it will NEVER end! Amazing!! One thing that really struck me today is that Christ had everything in heaven. He gave up His throne to come here and He knew exactly who He was here, the Son of God, the Creator of the world. Even with all of that, He spent his time serving men, doing God's will, and He DIED for us. I never thought of just how selfless He was before tonight. Thats such a great example for us to follow too! We have so much and we can do so much for others, why don't we? Needless to say, I came out feeling really good about serving, and helping others.
I had one client after institute and came home to find everyone outside with the cats. After some time laughing at Torrie trying to get out of the playhouse and Shark running to get back in, Jamie called all of us together to challenge us to read the Book of Mormon in 60 days. (Erik and I also had a discussion on whether the plural is Books of Mormon or Book of Mormons) So we all took that challenge starting tomorrow...I guess its today, but I won't start until later on.
Well I had a great time and learned a lot. I'm going to try and update how things are going for the scripture reading.

The first post!
Hey all, I thought it might be fun to start a blog about me and the stuff thats going on in my life.
Currently I am sitting in my room thinking about the wonderful things that have been happening in my life. My ex got engaged a few days ago which is about a year after we got engaged...to my friend I may add. I had a really hard time with that yesterday. I just hoped that she would find someone else, I still do, but if he's the one for her then I will be happy for them. (or try to)
I promise I'm not going to use this blog as a rant about that whole thing, its just been on my mind and I wanted to get it out.
Well I'm going to start reading "Preach my Gospel" today before work. I've decided that if I get feeling sorry for myself and my lack of boys in my life I'm going to pull out my scriptures and read or say a prayer and remember I want a mission and getting married is not a priority for me right now. I am hoping this will keep me from any wallowing and it will keep me in tune with the Spirit more.
Well I'm off to get started!
